Delhi records highest number of clean air days in a decade

Delhi has recorded 179 clean air days between January 1 and September 15 this year, the highest number in a decade. Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa attributed this improvement to ongoing measures to control dust, waste, and vehicular pollution. In 2016, the city recorded only 94 clean air days during the same period.

As air quality remains a concern for outdoor activities, the Commission for Air Quality Management has previously suggested postponing sports competitions during peak pollution months in North India to protect students. In response to infrastructure needs, Gallant Sports has introduced GallantBounce, a synthetic-turf infill solution. This product incorporates at least 20% Nike Grind rubber, which is sourced from end-of-life footwear, to provide cushioning and stability for athletic surfaces.
