Sarita Vihar road accident kills four during CCTV installation

A fatal road accident occurred in the Sarita Vihar area of South Delhi early Sunday morning when a medium-sized dumper truck collided with a stationary crane and an auto-rickshaw. The vehicles were being used by workers from the Safe City Project to install CCTV cameras for the Delhi Traffic Police.

Reports indicate the death toll has risen to four, including an HR manager identified as Suraj, 34, and workers Umesh, 23, and Praveen, 35. Some reports also list Anoop, 26, among the deceased. Three others were injured in the collision and are receiving hospital treatment. One worker, Sudhir, escaped the incident unharmed.

The dumper, which was traveling from Noida and bearing a Haryana registration number, was reportedly speeding. The driver fled the scene immediately following the crash. Police have identified the vehicle owner as Sagar Bhadana of Faridabad and have registered a case involving charges of negligence and culpable homicide.
