Delhi roof collapse kills couple in Usmanpur

On the night of August 2‑3, 2026, the roof of a house in JP Nagar (Jaiprakash Nagar) in the Gonda area of Usmanpur, North‑East Delhi, collapsed. The incident trapped a husband, Tinku, 32, and his wife, Urmila, 30, under the debris.

Residents and police rescued the couple and rushed them to Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital, where Chief Medical Officer Dr Santosh declared both dead on arrival. Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the structural failure.
