Delhi traffic police save lawyer who collapsed at ITO crossing

On 27 July, a traffic police inspector named Gopal and his team at the ITO intersection in New Delhi responded to a emergency when lawyer Namnit lost control of his motorcycle and fell, appearing to suffer a heart‑related episode worsened by the intense heat. The officers quickly removed his helmet, administered first‑aid and CPR, and, rather than wait for an ambulance, drove him in a police vehicle to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Hospital, where he was admitted within two minutes. Doctors are investigating the precise cause of the incident.

The incident was highlighted by the traffic police as an example of how Delhi’s traffic officers are tasked not only with managing congestion but also with providing immediate lifesaving assistance in critical moments.
