Delhi Transport Department honored for helmet safety campaign

The Delhi government’s Transport Department has received an Honourable Mention at the World Safety 2026 Conference in Cape Town, South Africa. The recognition was awarded in the Ultra Short Video category for the road safety campaign titled ‘Helmet Wearing–Consequences’.

Launched in August 2025, the campaign focuses on the importance of helmet use for both riders and pillion passengers of two-wheelers, emphasizing that safety is a vital protective measure rather than just a regulatory requirement. The International Safety Media Awards evaluated the entry based on production quality, clarity of messaging, innovation, and creativity.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Transport Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh were involved in the campaign's launch, with officials stating that the international recognition serves as motivation to continue public awareness efforts regarding road safety and collective social responsibility.
