Delhi universities face governance and student demand disputes

Academic institutions in New Delhi are facing internal challenges regarding governance and student welfare. The Hindu College Staff Association has formally requested that Delhi University take over the college's administration. The association is calling for an independent inquiry into alleged irregularities involving admissions, financial management, procurement, and appointments. Specific concerns include the bypassing of the Staff Council, breaches of admission rules, and the potential misuse of college resources for private commercial activities.

Simultaneously, the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students’ Union (JNUSU) has presented a charter of demands to the university's Vice-Chancellor. The students are seeking the rollback of the CPO Manual, the reinstatement of certain committees, and improvements to campus infrastructure such as Wi-Fi, mess services, and library facilities. The union also called for an audit of mess bills, increased scholarships, and investigations into alleged recruitment irregularities.
