Delhi weather shows drop in minimum temperatures
Delhi is experiencing a rise in morning and nighttime chill as the minimum temperature at the Safdarjung weather station dropped to 17.1°C, marking the lowest minimum temperature recorded in October so far. This figure is 1.3°C below the seasonal norm.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts clear skies and dry conditions for the coming days. While daytime maximum temperatures are expected to remain between 31°C and 33°C, nighttime temperatures may continue to fluctuate between 17°C and 19°C. A cyclonic circulation associated with a western disturbance over Himachal Pradesh and Punjab may influence these weather patterns.
Air quality in the capital remains a concern. The Central Pollution Control Board reported an average Air Quality Index (AQI) of 139, placing it in the moderate category. Forecasts suggest that air quality could deteriorate further starting October 21.
