Delhi youth video showing self‑defence gear amid Jantar Mantar protest goes viral

Students and young activists have been protesting at Delhi's Jantar Mantar for more than a month over the leaked NEET answer key, demanding the resignation of the education minister. On July 20, participants planned a peaceful march to Parliament, but police intervened with batons and tear‑gas shells, and videos emerged alleging misconduct toward demonstrators, including women.

A video that has attracted over one million views shows a young protester protecting himself with a thermocol pad inside his shirt, a helmet, and a flower garland, explaining that the gear is meant to shield him from police blows while emphasizing the non‑violent nature of the march. The clip sparked widespread discussion on social media about police tactics and protesters' self‑defence measures.
