Deli Serdang launches new bridge and educational initiatives

In Deli Serdang, North Sumatra, local authorities and police have launched new community initiatives focused on infrastructure and education.

Polresta Deli Serdang Chief Kombes Pol Hendria Lesmana inaugurated the Merah Putih Bridge in Pardamean Village, Tanjung Morawa. The bridge connects Pardamean and Wonosari villages, facilitating daily activities, social engagement, and local economic movement. The project was completed under a police community care program to improve regional mobility.

Simultaneously, the Deli Serdang Regency Government is promoting the Sekolah Rakyat (People's School) program, a strategic initiative for children from underprivileged families. Vice Regent Lom Lom Suwondo emphasized that the program prioritizes quality learning, character education, and a safe environment. The schools utilize a national curriculum combined with a dormitory system and a Multi Entry Multi Exit (MEME) mechanism to provide educational flexibility. The program also includes character-building activities such as the BERSUKA program.
