Delian Peevski flight records disputed as businessman Lyubomir Petrov denies travel
A Bulgarian police (GDBOP) report listed Delian Peevski, leader of the DPS party, as having traveled on several flights, including a trip to Istanbul around last Christmas. The same report named businessman Lyubomir Petrov, prompting media inquiries. Petrov told NOVA he does not know Peevski and insists he never flew with the politician, saying he was in Bulgaria at the time and that his name’s appearance is likely a coincidence. He said he will pursue legal action against those who have “misused” his identity.
The report also mentioned another businessman, Alexander Staliyski, as having flown with Peevski in April 2019; Staliyski did not respond to interview requests. Progressive Bulgaria MP Anton Kutep cited the GDBOP data as proof of Peevski’s travel companions and questioned who funded the flights. Constitutional Court judge Desislava Atanasova again denied being on any of Peevski’s flights, calling the spreadsheet “an Excel table with false content”.
