Delice melon yields and quality rise following seasonal rainfall

Melon production in the Delice district of Kırıkkale, Turkey, has seen an increase in both yield and quality this season due to effective rainfall. Local farmers report that the weather conditions have contributed to high levels of maturity, taste, and aroma in the crops.

Farmer Mehmet Erdem stated that approximately 120 tons of produce are expected from roughly 35 acres of land. While the harvest is plentiful, demand has remained steady, helping to maintain stable and satisfactory prices for producers.

The harvested melons are being transported in batches of 12 to 15 tons to various markets. While previous years saw significant shipments to Black Sea provinces such as Samsun, Rize, and Trabzon, current shipments are being directed toward markets in Kahramankazan and the surrounding Ankara region.
