Delivery workers involved in separate incidents in Mexico

Two distinct incidents involving platform delivery workers have been reported in Mexico. In Guadalajara, Jalisco, the association ‘Ni un repartidor menos’ has called for an end to the stigmatization of delivery workers following the detention of Samuel Morales Navarro. The detention occurred during a protest at Casa Jalisco, where representatives criticized the use of excessive force, including water cannons and gas, by authorities. The association noted that Morales Navarro’s work tools, including his motorcycle and cell phone, were seized during the crackdown.

In Mexico City, a delivery worker was arrested by the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) following a violent altercation in the Coyoacán borough. The incident, which took place near the Galerías Coapa shopping center, reportedly began as a traffic dispute between a driver and a delivery motorcyclist. The situation escalated when other delivery colleagues arrived, surrounded a private vehicle, and used helmets to break windows. Two men, aged 25 and 34, sustained injuries during the confrontation, including one stab wound.
