Deloitte Greece study says AI‑human collaboration is essential for future competitiveness

Deloitte’s 2026 Global Human Capital Trends research, presented by George Frangos, Equity Partner and Human Capital Leader of Deloitte Greece, finds that artificial intelligence alone will not transform organisations. The report stresses that competitive advantage will belong to firms that redesign work, invest in people’s adaptability and foster a culture of continuous learning.

Eighty‑five percent of senior leaders say rapid adaptability is now a core success factor, yet only about 7 % have launched substantive initiatives to develop that capability. Sixty‑six percent expect effective AI‑human teamwork to be a decisive factor in the coming years, but merely 6 % report meaningful progress in implementing such collaboration.

The study cites a large European telecom operator as an example: after initially adding AI tools without changing work processes, productivity rose by just 5 %. When the company shifted to training employees and redesigning jobs, results improved dramatically. Frangos is quoted saying, “AI is truly a revolution, but not only technological—it is a transformation of work that must start with the human.”
