Delta Air Lines and Elon Musk clash over Starlink Wi-Fi decision

A dispute has emerged between Elon Musk and Delta Air Lines following the airline's decision to utilize Amazon’s satellite internet for in-flight Wi-Fi instead of Musk’s Starlink service.

Reports from aviation insider JonNYC suggest that Delta CEO Ed Bastian allegedly told employees during company events that the airline did not wish to partner with Musk, citing his reputation. These remarks, which have not been independently verified, reportedly included statements such as, “We do not want to be with Elon Musk. Trust me.”

Musk responded to the news on X, claiming that Delta “will lose a lot of customers” due to its choice. He further commented that Bastian “will lose his job over this.”

While United Airlines is currently rolling out Starlink across its fleet with plans to equip all aircraft by 2027, Delta announced in March that it would pursue a different route by selecting Amazon’s satellite internet service. Initial installations for Delta are expected to begin soon.
