Delta Air Lines Flight 2204, a Boeing 757 traveling from Atlanta to Orlando, was forced to make an emergency return to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on Saturday morning after the crew reported smoke and fumes in the cockpit.

Shortly after takeoff, the pilots declared an emergency. After landing on a taxiway, all 199 passengers and six crew members evacuated the aircraft via inflatable emergency slides. Passengers were subsequently transported to the terminal by bus and re-accommodated on a replacement flight.

While most passengers remained safe, one crew member and one passenger reportedly sought medical attention following the incident. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has launched an investigation, and Delta maintenance teams are inspecting the aircraft to determine the exact source of the fumes.
