Delta and British Airways announce major flight capacity expansions
Delta Air Lines is expanding its operations at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), planning to reach more than 200 daily departures during the summer 2027 peak. The expansion includes investments in airport facilities, premium services, and the $2.3 billion Sky Way project designed to improve passenger flow between Terminals 2 and 3. This growth provides increased connectivity for travelers from the U.S. West Coast and international passengers, including those from Nigeria connecting through Atlanta.
British Airways is also increasing its service capacity, adding more than 35,400 seats on its nonstop route between St. Louis and London Heathrow for the summer 2027 season. This represents an 80 percent increase compared to the current summer season. The airline will utilize its Boeing 787 fleet, offering daily service during peak periods between April and June, as well as from September through October 2027.
