Delta and KLM announce expanded free in-flight Wi-Fi services
Major airlines are expanding high-speed internet access on long-haul routes. Delta Air Lines has announced it will offer free in-flight Wi-Fi across its trans-Pacific fleet serving Australia, including Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane, within the coming weeks. Following approval from the FCC, Delta will utilize its own Delta Sync Wi-Fi service, supported by T-Mobile, rather than SpaceX’s Starlink.
KLM has also announced plans to provide free, high-speed, and unlimited Wi-Fi on its intercontinental flights starting in mid-2027. The airline will implement Starlink satellite technology to ensure connectivity over oceans and remote regions. This service will be available across all cabin classes, with free access specifically designated for Flying Blue loyalty program members.
