Delta Electronics launches 80MW energy storage system in Taiwan

Delta Electronics and Kuan-Tien Steel have announced the official grid connection and launch of a large-scale 80MW / 305MWh energy storage system. Located in the Madou Industrial Park in Tainan, the facility is Delta Electronics' largest energy storage project in Taiwan to date.

The system is designed to participate in the Taiwan Power Company electricity trading platform, providing energy transfer complex dynamic regulation reserve (E-dReg) frequency regulation services. With a capacity of 305,000 kWh, the site can supply approximately one day's worth of electricity to 30,000 households.

The project integrates Delta's liquid-cooled 3.4MW power conversion system (PCS), M-series battery energy storage systems, and the DeltaGrid energy management system (EMS). To ensure long-term operational safety and stability, the facility is monitored 24 hours a day via an online command center. This infrastructure aims to enhance grid resilience and power quality in response to growing domestic electricity demand and the increasing share of renewable energy in Taiwan.
