Delta flight attendant claims safety rule enforcement has declined

A Delta Air Lines flight attendant has claimed that cabin crew members have largely stopped enforcing safety rules due to difficult passenger behavior and fear of management retaliation.

The crew member described Delta passengers as “the worst…on the planet,” alleging they are entitled and disrespectful. She stated that because passengers often complain to management or the CEO when challenged, employees have learned to avoid intervening in disputes or enforcing FAA regulations to prevent being punished by the airline.

According to the attendant, the role has shifted from active safety enforcement to merely providing service, such as serving food and beverages, because passengers often refuse to comply with rules and crew members fear the consequences of objecting.
