Delta flight attendant sues airline and Marriott

A former Delta Air Lines flight attendant, Candace Carter, has filed a lawsuit in federal court in Georgia against Delta and Marriott. The suit follows an incident at the Courtyard Marriott Savannah Airport on March 17, 2025.

Carter alleges that a hotel clerk refused her check-in despite her providing reservation details and threatened to contact Delta to have her fired. The situation reportedly escalated to include racial slurs from another guest and resulted in Carter being jailed overnight. Carter further claims that Delta terminated her employment while she was on approved medical leave, before she had the opportunity to provide her account of the events to the airline. She is seeking damages for lost pay, benefits, emotional distress, and punitive damages.
