Delta passenger faces discomfort after skipping seat selection fees

A Delta Air Lines passenger shared a viral experience on TikTok after deciding to skip seat-selection fees to save money. While the decision initially seemed successful on his first flight, it resulted in an uncomfortable seating arrangement on a connecting regional jet.

On the second leg of his trip, the traveler was assigned a seat in the final row of a small aircraft, positioned next to the lavatory. Upon boarding, he discovered that the flight attendant’s jumpseat was located directly adjacent to his aisle seat, forcing the two to sit shoulder-to-shoulder for the duration of the flight. The passenger noted that he learned a “valuable lesson” regarding the importance of paying for preferred seating to avoid leaving seat assignments to chance.
