Delta State approves school reconstruction and civil servant welfare measures

The Delta State Government has approved a large-scale rehabilitation and reconstruction project for primary and secondary schools across the state. Following a State Executive Council meeting led by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, the Ministries of Primary and Secondary Education were directed to assess schools in all 25 local government areas to identify those requiring urgent work.

In addition to educational infrastructure, the administration announced several measures to improve worker welfare. This includes the approval of 12 new duplexes for Permanent Secretaries and a proposal for a 13th-month salary for civil servants, which would be supported by upcoming legislation. The government also approved additional residential quarters for members of the Delta State House of Assembly.
