Delta State Governor faces calls for road repairs and security cooperation
Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is facing calls to address deteriorating infrastructure and strengthen regional security. Jefferson Oruoghorie, convener of the Coalition for Good Governance, has appealed to the governor to approve immediate remedial works on the Amukpe-Eku-Abraka-Agbor Road. The road, which connects several key communities including Eku, Abraka, and Agbor, has suffered from years of neglect, negatively impacting agriculture, local trade, and transportation costs.
In a separate development, Governor Oborevwori met with Major General Everest Okoro, the newly appointed General Officer Commanding of the Nigerian Army's 6 Division. The governor emphasized the necessity of proactive security collaboration to protect lives and economic assets in the Niger Delta. He noted that the state's stability is vital to Nigeria's national economy and reaffirmed the government's commitment to providing logistical support to the military to ensure a safe environment for investment.
