Delta State Governor orders permanent fix for collapsed East-West Road

Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has ordered a permanent solution for a collapsed section of the East-West Road in Agbarho, Ughelli North Local Government Area. The washout occurred following six consecutive days of heavy rainfall, which created significant hydraulic pressure that caused the road to fail.

Julius Berger Nigeria Plc has commenced emergency work to restore traffic flow and is conducting technical surveys and hydraulic assessments to determine a long-term fix. Potential solutions being considered include the construction of a mini-bridge or a multi-cell culvert. The Governor stated that the state government is prepared to fund the permanent remedial works to ensure the infrastructure can accommodate the high volume of water passing through the area.
