Delta State Governor suspends Commissioner for Works
Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has indefinitely suspended the Commissioner for Works (Highways and Urban Roads), Reuben Izeze. The suspension follows allegations linking the commissioner to an assault on the Governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Protocol, Simon Mudi, also known as Temple.
The incident reportedly took place at the Petroleum Training Institute in Effurun. According to a statement from the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Kingsley Emu, the suspension is an administrative measure intended to allow security agencies to conduct an unbiased and interference-free investigation into the matter.
Mudi alleged that he was attacked by a large group of men during a political stakeholders’ meeting. The state government emphasized its commitment to upholding the rule of law and public safety, regardless of whether state institutions are involved in the allegations.
