Delta State reports economic growth and debt reduction under Governor Oborevwori
Since taking office on May 29, 2023, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has implemented economic reforms in Delta State, positioning it as one of the five largest economies in Nigeria. Key achievements include reducing the state's debt burden from N465 billion to less than N150 billion.
Under the MORE Agenda, the administration has focused on infrastructure, peace and security in oil-rich communities, and fiscal prudence. The Commonwealth Institute of Advanced Professional Studies (CIAPS) has ranked Delta State as the second best-governed state in Nigeria. The administration's initiatives aim to support various demographics, including students, farmers, artisans, and senior citizens.
