Delvonne Johnson Sentenced for $64K FEMA Wildfire Fraud

Delvonne Johnson, a 32‑year‑old East Hollywood resident, was sentenced to 12 months and one day in federal prison for fraudulently obtaining more than $64,000 in disaster‑relief funds from FEMA. He pleaded guilty to filing a false claim that his property in Pacific Palisades was damaged in the January 2025 Eaton and Palisades wildfires, leading FEMA to disburse $64,138 in aid. Johnson was also ordered to pay $64,148 in restitution to the agency.

The fraudulent claim displaced legitimate victims of the fires, which burned nearly 60,000 acres, destroyed over 16,000 structures and caused 30 deaths. The case is one of several prosecutions targeting individuals who attempted to exploit federal assistance intended for genuine wildfire victims.
