Delyan Peevski alleges massive post-election spending scheme

Delyan Peevski, leader of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS), has alleged that billions of lev are being prepared for massive government spending following upcoming elections. Speaking in the corridors of the National Assembly, Peevski claimed that authorities are waiting for the election period and media scrutiny to pass to avoid harming their presidential candidate.

Peevski asserted that these funds would be funneled through the State Agency for Bulgarians Investments (API) and Ivan Shishkov to benefit a specific circle of oligarchs and companies. He specifically cited concerns regarding the Hemus motorway project, alleging that annexes are being prepared at prices three times higher than original estimates.

The DPS leader stated his intention to propose that these billions be redirected toward national defense, citizen security, and compensation for high food and energy prices instead of private interests.
