Delyan Peevski denies links to sleeping bag procurement firms

Delyan Peevski, leader of the DPS-Novo Nachalo party, has issued a strong denial regarding allegations linking him and his family to companies involved in public procurement for sleeping bags. Peevski characterized the claims as lies and stated that neither he nor his family members have any involvement with the firms in question.

Peevski expressed his support for ongoing investigations and urged the National Revenue Agency (NAP) to conclude its probe and publish the results as soon as possible. He noted that he has been one of the most scrutinized political leaders in Bulgaria for over 15 years, including during various caretaker governments.

In a counter-accusation, Peevski called on Minister Ivan Demerzhiev to apply the same investigative rigor to allegations of corruption within high-level state institutions. Peevski specifically cited public data regarding 411 properties allegedly acquired by Demerzhiev and his family, promising to continue providing information to the public and authorities regarding the Minister's wealth.
