DEM Party spokesperson reaffirms commitment to peace process

DEM Party spokesperson Ayşegül Doğan reaffirmed the party's commitment to achieving a permanent and dignified peace in Turkey, stating that they are prepared to face all risks and costs to pursue this demand.

During a press conference following a meeting of the party's Central Executive Board (MYK), Doğan discussed the implementation of a framework law. To oversee this process, four specialized committees have been established: the Judicial and Legal Affairs Committee, the Monitoring and Detection Committee, the Social Adaptation and Integration Committee, and the Disarmament and Strategic Coordination Sub-Committee. The board noted the importance of these committees convening quickly to coordinate efforts.

Doğan also addressed the role of Abdullah Öcalan, emphasizing the need for him to have effective and uninterrupted communication capabilities to fulfill his historical responsibility. She noted that his involvement is critical not only for coordinating disarmament but also for strengthening the historical alliance between Kurds and Turks.
