Demeetra AgBio expands piggyBac research access with RIKEN BRC

Demeetra AgBio, Inc. has entered into an agreement with the RIKEN BioResource Research Center (RIKEN BRC) in Japan to expand academic access to piggyBac transposon research resources. This agreement extends the availability of resources beyond plasmid vectors to include cell lines and animal models modified with piggyBac.

Under the agreement, researchers can follow established procedures through RIKEN BRC to obtain biological resources containing the piggyBac transposon for non-commercial academic research. Researchers aiming for commercial development of models derived from this research may consult directly with Demeetra regarding technology licensing and related rights. The partnership builds upon previous relations between RIKEN BRC and Hera BioLabs, which was acquired by Demeetra in 2025.
