Demeter Italia farms join ‘Seminare il futuro’ initiative
Demeter-certified biodynamic farms in Italy are participating in the ‘Seminare il futuro’ (Sowing the Future) initiative, promoted by the SIF Foundation with support from NaturaSì. Scheduled for Sunday, October 11, the event aims to bring farmers and citizens together in the fields to rediscover the value of sowing and the importance of preserving agricultural biodiversity and seed heritage.
Participating farms include Bio Ferrarini in Mirandola (Modena), Boccea in Rome, and La Colombaia in Capua (Caserta). Enrico Amico, president of Demeter Italia and representative of La Colombaia, emphasized that the act of sowing serves as a reminder of the necessity of soil health and seed quality to ensure long-term food security and agricultural resilience.
The event features collective sowing sessions alongside workshops and community gatherings designed to foster relationships between the public and those who cultivate the land.
