Demetrius Andrade Targets Edgar Berlanga for Next Fight

Former two‑weight champion Demetrius Andrade said he wants to fight Edgar Berlanga, describing the matchup as mutually beneficial and a way to boost both fighters’ profiles. Neither boxer currently holds a major belt, but both remain ranked contenders in the light‑heavyweight and super‑middleweight divisions.

Ahead of his July 26 return at Madison Square Garden against Steven Butler, Berlanga reflected on his past discipline, admitting he relied on natural talent and gave only “50 %” effort. He said a new camp has “turned the light switch on” and he aims to be seen alongside elite fighters such as Shakur Stevenson and Gervonta Crawford.
