Demi Lovato discusses ongoing eating disorder recovery
Singer Demi Lovato shared insights into her lifelong journey with eating disorders during an appearance on the “Street You Grew Up On” podcast. Lovato stated that she does not view being “fully healed” as a realistic goal, describing her relationship with food as a “manageable battle” that will continue throughout her life.
Lovato noted that she has attended treatment multiple times and has moved toward a state of body acceptance rather than perfection. The singer highlighted how she found freedom through cooking, which inspired her first cookbook, “One Plate at a Time: Recipes for Finding Freedom with Food.”
Reflecting on her recent “It’s Not That Deep” tour, Lovato expressed how she overcame anxieties regarding her physical appearance and online criticism. She emphasized that her self-worth is not tied to her body, noting that her family and husband value her for her character.
