Demi Vollering to be honored in Pijnacker-Nootdorp

Dutch cyclist Demi Vollering will be celebrated in her home municipality of Pijnacker-Nootdorp later this month following a highly successful competitive season. The 29-year-old athlete secured numerous major titles in 2026, including the Tour de France Femmes, the Giro d'Italia, and the World Road Race Championship in Montreal, as well as the European Championship in Slovenia.

The celebration is planned to begin with a special honorary route through Pijnacker, where Vollering will cycle alongside young talents from the Pijnacker cycling club. The route is expected to conclude at the administration center on Emmastraat, including a ceremonial lap around the Oranjeplein roundabout.

An official ceremony will follow at the administration center from 16:00 to 17:30. Due to limited capacity, attendees must register in advance to receive a confirmation email. The event will also feature a segment where five selected youths under the age of 18 have the opportunity to ask Vollering questions.
