Demi Vollering clinches Giro d'Italia Women title, completes Grand Tour triple crown

Demi Vollering (FDJ United‑Suez) overturned a 49‑second deficit on the final 145 km stage from Saluzzo to claim the 2026 Giro d'Italia Women. She launched a decisive attack on the last climb, dropped defending leader Anna van der Breggen, and finished 30 seconds ahead of Antonia Niedermaier, with van der Breggen dropping to third, 1 minute 37 seconds behind. Vollering’s victory gives her the Giro title and completes the women’s Grand Tour triple crown – she previously won the Tour de France Femmes (2023) and the Vuelta Femenina (2024‑25). Earlier in the race, Vollering also won the shortened queen stage on the Colle delle Finestre after a safety‑driven course reduction caused by an ice slab. Italian rider Elisa Longo Borghini won the stage sprint, while other podium places were taken by Niedermaier and Niamh Fisher‑Black. The result marks the first Giro win for Vollering and makes her only the second female cyclist, after Annemiek van Vleuten, to win all three Grand Tours.
