Demiane Agustien undergoes naturalization for Indonesia national team

Demiane Agustien, a 19-year-old midfielder currently with Arsenal's U-21 squad, is reportedly undergoing the naturalization process to play for the Indonesia national team. Agustien, who was born in Oss, Netherlands, possesses Indonesian heritage through his mother's side.

Legal representatives for the Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI) are reportedly working on the process. The move is viewed as a strategic effort to strengthen the national squad for the 2027 Asian Cup and the 2030 World Cup qualifiers. PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir has previously indicated a need for additional talent in attacking, midfield, and wing positions.

Agustien has recently drawn attention for training with Arsenal's senior squad ahead of a Champions League match against LOSC Lille. His career includes stints at the West Bromwich Albion academy and Derby County before joining Arsenal in July 2025.
