Demir Ćosović files criminal complaint against Montenegro's Supreme State Prosecutor

Demir Ćosović has filed a criminal complaint with the Special State Prosecutor's Office (SDT) against Montenegro's Supreme State Prosecutor, Milorad Marković. The complaint alleges potential abuse of office or professional negligence regarding the investigation into the death of Alma Ćosović.

Alma Ćosović, a 43-year-old mother, died at the Clinical Center of Montenegro following a brutal beating by Dušan Ramić on June 11, 2025. Reports indicate she was left unconscious for over 30 hours without assistance in an apartment where her child, who has special needs, was also present.

The complainant argues that the Supreme State Prosecutor's Office failed to exercise its legal and organizational authority to conduct effective supervisory checks. Specifically, the complaint questions whether the prosecution adequately addressed serious allegations regarding the legal classification of the crime, the treatment of the child witness, and the overall handling of the case despite being formally notified of the family's grievances.
