Demirci hosts inaugural Jujube Festival in Manisa

The first Jujube Festival was held in the Söğütçük neighborhood of the Demirci district in Manisa, hosted by the Demirci Municipality. The event attracted approximately 10,000 participants from the district center and surrounding neighborhoods.

A central feature of the festival was a competition involving 35 jujube producers. A jury from the Manisa Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry evaluated the entries based on size, taste, aroma, and appearance. Adem Ulus won first place with 290 points, followed by Mehmet Kanca in second and Erkan Ulus in third.

Awards were presented to the winners by Demirci District Governor Fatih Bayram, Demirci Mayor Erkan Kara, and Manisa Provincial Deputy Director of Agriculture and Forestry Serdar Mersinli. The festival also included cultural performances, such as traditional folk dances by the Söğütçük neighborhood women's folk dance team.
