Demirci hosts 'Mini Market' for young entrepreneurs
In the Demirci district of Manisa, Turkey, a 'Mini Market' event was organized to provide children aged 5 to 13 with early experience in commerce and financial literacy. Organized by teachers Zehra Betül Akkılıç and Kadriye İclal Var, the event aimed to foster social skills, self-confidence, and money management under the slogan 'For generations that produce, share, and are happy.'
Participants set up stalls to sell various items, including food, handmade jewelry, gifts, and books. The initiative grew rapidly from a concept into an organization involving 40 children. Local residents and families showed significant interest in the market, and Demirci Mayor Erkan Kara visited the event to support the young entrepreneurs by purchasing their products.
