Demirci and Altıeylül host liberation festivals and cultural events

Various municipalities in Turkey are hosting liberation festivals to commemorate historical independence milestones. In Demirci, Manisa, the 2nd Liberation Festival began with a large parade featuring approximately 3,000 participants, including horseback riders, folk dance groups, and a military band. The festival includes cultural workshops, such as traditional carpet weaving training for children to preserve local heritage, and musical performances by artists like Zara.

In Altıeylül, Balıkesir, the municipality has organized a series of events running from August 27 through September 6 to mark the anniversary of the city’s liberation from occupation. The program features various musical recitals, military band performances, and concerts at Asuva Park, aimed at passing the spirit of the national struggle to future generations.
