Demirci opens Family Support Center in restored historic building

A restored historic building in the Demirci district of Manisa, Turkey, has officially opened as a Family Support Center (ADEM). Formerly used as a PTT service building, the structure underwent restoration to provide vocational training and economic opportunities for local women.

The center offers courses in various crafts, ranging from traditional hand-woven carpets to modern techniques such as tufting and punch needle. To support working mothers and trainees, the facility includes an on-site nursery, allowing children to receive care while their mothers participate in educational programs.

Local officials, including Demirci District Governor Fatih Bayram and Mayor Erkan Kara, attended the opening ceremony. They noted that this is the fourth such center in the Manisa province and emphasized its role in strengthening the family structure and contributing to the local economy through women's production.
