In the Demirözü district of Bayburt, local authorities have launched a series of educational programs focused on disaster preparedness and environmental sustainability. As part of the 'Family Protection and Strengthening Vision Document and Action Plan,' teams from AFAD and the Provincial Directorate of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change held meetings in the district center as well as various villages and neighborhoods.

AFAD instructors provided training on responding to earthquakes, floods, water inundation, and forest fires. The sessions included practical demonstrations of the 'Drop-Cover-Hold On' maneuver and emphasized the importance of creating Family Disaster and Emergency Plans. Residents were also advised on how to reduce household risks and prepare essential supplies for the first 72 hours following a disaster.

Simultaneously, the Provincial Directorate of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change conducted sessions on zero waste initiatives and the prevention of food waste. These workshops focused on reducing waste in daily life and utilizing resources more efficiently to promote environmental conservation.
