Democrat Party investigates assault allegation against Chaiyana Dechdecho

Abhisit Vejjajiva, leader of the Democrat Party, has confirmed he spoke with Chaiyana Dechdecho regarding allegations that the party deputy leader assaulted a deputy superintendent of the Thung Yai Police Station during a funeral.

Abhisit stated that the party is conducting a thorough investigation into the facts of the incident and will provide updates once more details are available. Chaiyawut Bannawat, the Democrat Party Secretary-General, emphasized that the party will not interfere with the legal process and will allow the authorities to proceed according to the law. He noted that the party intends to follow its internal regulations, which include appointing a committee to investigate matters that may cause damage to the party's reputation.
