Democratic Alliance holds major Johannesburg rally ahead of local elections

The Democratic Alliance (DA) held its “Joburg: Now or NEVER” rally at the Nasrec Centre as part of its year-long campaign ahead of the November 4 local government elections. The event featured keynote addresses from party leadership, including Johannesburg mayoral candidate Helen Zille.

Supporters at the rally identified service delivery failures, crime, corruption, and unemployment as the most pressing issues facing Johannesburg residents. Attendees expressed a need for reliable water and electricity, repaired roads, and safer neighborhoods. Activists noted that poor service delivery has negatively impacted essential public facilities, including schools, clinics, and police stations.
