Democratic candidates lead in recent US congressional and demographic polls

Recent polling indicates Democratic advantages heading into upcoming elections. An NPR/PBS News/Marist poll shows 53% of registered voters supporting Democratic congressional candidates compared to 41% for Republicans. The survey also highlights that Democrats hold advantages regarding perceptions of the economy, gas prices, and foreign policy. Additionally, 56% of respondents expressed a preference for candidates with new ideas over those with a proven record.

President Trump’s job approval rating was measured at 39%, with 59% of respondents disapproving of his performance. The poll noted that 45% of all registered voters view their congressional vote primarily as a vote against Trump. In specific state-level Senate contests, Democrats lead in Iowa and Texas according to Marist data.

Separately, a poll by the Jewish Voters Resource Center found that 67% of American Jewish voters intend to support a Democrat in the upcoming midterm elections, while 26% plan to vote Republican. This figure aligns with historical trends dating back to the 1930s, where approximately two-thirds of Jewish voters have sided with the Democratic Party in national contests.
