Democratic engagement initiatives recognized in Germany

The Theater-Additum of Heinrich-Heine-Gymnasium Kaiserslautern has received the Special Prize for Democratic Engagement from the association Politik Attraktiver Machen e. V. (PAM). The award recognizes the school's production of “Die Welle,” which explored themes of group pressure, exclusion, and social responsibility.

In Jena, the “Herbst der Demokratie” (Autumn of Democracy) program is scheduled for November 2026. Organized by the initiative “Kreuz ohne Haken – fUEr Vielfalt” and the Evangelical Church District of Jena, the event features workshops, readings, and concerts aimed at promoting peace, solidarity, and resistance against hate and violence.

Additionally, Jena is conducting votes for its 2026 citizen budget, with 34 proposals currently under consideration by residents through November 12, 2026.
