Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine forms election list
The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) has announced the formation of the ‘Unity and Democratic Change’ list to contest the Palestinian legislative elections scheduled for November 28, 2026. The list includes 60 candidates from the West Bank, Gaza Strip, and Jerusalem, featuring women, youth, and prisoners.
Magda al-Masri, Deputy Secretary-General of the DFLP and head of the list, stated that the decision to run follows unsuccessful attempts to form a joint coalition with other democratic, leftist, and independent national figures. She emphasized that the elections are a constitutional right and a necessary step to rebuild the political system and end internal divisions.
Al-Masri clarified that the DFLP’s call for a comprehensive national dialogue among Palestinian factions is intended to complement, rather than delay, the electoral process. The party advocates for pursuing both paths in parallel: a national dialogue to reach consensus on major issues and the holding of elections on the scheduled date to renew political institutions.
