Democratic Front holds emergency session over Jaafar Farah candidacy

The Democratic Front for Peace and Equality has announced an extraordinary session of its National Council to be held Monday evening in Shafa-Amr. The meeting aims to address the candidacy of Jaafar Farah for the second seat on the party's Knesset election list, following his decision to retract a previous statement regarding his withdrawal from the race.

The Council will review a report from an investigation committee concerning testimonies made against Farah, including recent additional statements. Farah will be granted an opportunity to respond to these allegations during the session. The agenda includes voting on a recommendation to withdraw Farah's candidacy and, if approved, electing a replacement candidate.

Jaafar Farah addressed the media, stating that while he respects the party's institutions, he is not overly attached to the Knesset seat. He characterized the situation as a period of internal tension and suggested that some actions within the party may be motivated by political targeting or a desire to see him fail. He emphasized the importance of respecting the will of the people and resolving the dispute quickly.
