Democratic lawmakers join Denver summit to discuss 2028 presidential ambitions
Prominent Democratic lawmakers, including Senators Cory Booker and Chris Van Hollen, as well as Representative Ro Khanna, are scheduled to attend the ‘What’s Next’ summit in Denver from November 12 to 14. The gathering follows the 2026 midterm elections and aims to facilitate discussions among various party factions regarding the future of the Democratic Party and the upcoming 2028 presidential election.
The summit is hosted by Majority Democrats, an organization led by Representative Jake Auchincloss. The group intends to use the meeting to analyze lessons from the midterm races and foster a ‘big tent’ approach to unify different wings of the party. Several attendees have previously expressed interest in or have already pursued presidential campaigns, including Booker, who ran in 2020, and Khanna, who has described himself as a ‘long-shot presidential candidate’ in the past.
